The research was carried out by a team of four:
Dr Mark Pelling - Principal Investigator
Mark is a Senior Lecturer at the Geography Department of Kings College London. His research and teaching is concerned with the capacity of social systems to respond to environmental risk.
Prof John Dearing - Co-Investigator
John is Professor of Physical Geography at the University of Liverpool. His research interests lie with the reconstruction of past environments from palaeoclimatic records and the developing modelling techniques to understand interactions between physical and human systems in the context of global climate change.
Prof Denis Smith - Co-Investigator
Denis is Professor of Management at the University of Liverpool, and Head of the Management School. His research interests include the behaviour of business organisations facing external threats and how to manage crisis and organisational failure. He is also interested in management under conditions of uncertainty.
Dr Christopher High - Research Associate
Chris is now a lecturer at the Open University. His research and teaching interests include learning and communication in sustainable development and informal institutions in rural governance.
